An intensive three-week musical theatre summer program. Designed to enhance skills and celebrate musical theatre. Students return year after year to enjoy the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals who are fully committed to performing in a full-length musical theatre production. It is truly amazing what happens when these students meet, they are inspired and make lifelong friendships.
A typical day may include choreography, vocal work and acting training. Students can expect to rehearse every day, and to attend workshops teaching speech, voice, dance and stage fighting techniques. CYMC’s world class faculty lead the program along with top quality workshop leaders who specialize in unique areas of stagecraft.
A rigorous schedule of rehearsals leads our students to develop their talents and hone their abilities. Students can expect long days where they will thrive in this one of kind program. There are opportunities for fun too, we typically plan a beach night, movie night and other extracurricular activities outside of the rehearsal space.
The musical theatre faculty choose Disney’s NEWSIES The Musical for our 2022 production. It is a huge and wonderful show that offers fantastic material for enthusiastic singers, actors, and dancers. It will be a terrific adventure for the audience to welcome our students back to the Sid Williams Theatre stage.
The following information is about meals and accommodations:
We are arranging to get a caterer for the 2022 Island Jazz. This option is for students who are not staying overnight and would like to get their meals at the same time as the campers.
The lunches are $13 a day.
The dinners are $18 a day.
There are a total of 22 days.
The total for lunches is $286
The total for lunches is $396.
For both dinners and lunches, it would come to $682.
Additional information: the overnight camping fee is $975 and it includes the above cost of meals and the $110 fee for transportation around the valley.
