Jeff Drummond

Jeff has  been playing guitar for 28 years and has been teaching and performing professionally for 20 years. He  took lessons learning rock n’ roll and studied classical guitar up to a grade 8 level. He  went to Mount Royal College in Calgary where he obtained a Jazz performance degree. He has played with jazz, rock, pop, blues/r n’ b and country acts all over Canada and the U.K. During the last 10 years he has produced and played on numerous recordings by Canadian artists, as well as his own original projects.

Jeff has an extensive background as an instructor and a performer has performed on national TV and radio such as Muchmore Music, Mike Bullard, Canada AM and CBC. Jeff is happy to teach a variety of music styles from Jazz to folk guitar.

Lee Ellefson

Lee Ellefson is a jazz guitarist, compose, producer and instructor.  He has performed with many of the great jazz artists of Canada, including Kenny Wheeler, Ian McDougall, Rick Kilburn, Phil Nimmons, Claude Ranger, Chris Nelson, Buff Allen, Rene Worst, Ken Lister, Nick McGowan, and his father, the great saxophonist Art Ellefson.  He currently teaches guitar at Vancouver Island University.

Anela Kahiamoe

Anela Kahiamoe

Anela Kahiamoe, originally from Hawaii, is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter who performs regularly around the Comox Valley. His styles include jazz, rock, country, blues and reggae with a Hawaiian flavour.

Anela has been a professional musician since the age of 17, and has appeared at Vancouver Island Musicfest as both a solo artist and with Sue Medley and the Backroad Band. His latest CD, entitled “Through the Years” is a solo compilation of songs recorded over the past twenty years. Anela’s music brings a tropical feel-good vibe, so sit back, relax hang loose and enjoy the ride.


Oscar Robles

Oscar Robles Diaz is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, music teacher, recording artist and composer. Oscar has a Bachelor's of Music degree from Mexico's National University (UNAM)'s classical guitar program. He performs regularly as a soloist in such projects as Zandhunga, Blues Report, Loose Gravel, Café Olé and Azucena Flamenco. Oscar teaches acoustic guitar, particularly flamenco style, and bass. He also teaches several types of drumming and percussion: electronic and acoustic drum kit, cajon, djembe, timbales and many other percussion instruments. His extensive knowledge in Latin and African styles is largely thanks to clinics and workshops with such greats as Lamine Thiam of Senegal, as well as master percussionist from Mexico Candido Hernandez, with whom Oscar has collaborated extensively on several different projects.

Oscar is excited to join the CYMC faculty as guitar specialist in the summer of 2019.
