A thirty-plus year veteran of the Toronto jazz scene, the sound of Tim Hamel’s trumpet has graced stages across North America and beyond. He has performed at most of the major jazz clubs and festivals in Canada. Recently, Alongside his own quartet recordings, Tim was also a featured horn player and composer/arranger with Aboriginal Juno award winning
guitarist Derek Miller. He appears on Miller’s most recent recording, Derek Miller and Double Trouble, which features Stevie Ray Vaughn’s legendary rhythm section, Double Trouble, and music icon Willie Nelson. Tim’s melodic sensibilities are second to none, and he has maintained a status as one of the city’s busiest horn players on everything from soundtrack recordings to live performances.
