CYMC’s home for the summer camp is Mark Isfeld School.
This is a modern secondary school, recently updated to all the required standards. The students are accommodated in dorms which can accommodate about 10 students each. Air mattresses and cots are provided (bring your own sleeping bag, pillows, towels etc.) There are segregated, private hot showers, a recreation area and enclosed garden spaces. WiFi is available – free. Food is cooked on the premises in the Home Economics Room. All meals are included in the Room and Board Fees and special dietary needs are accommodated. Please be sure to inform us of any food allergies and/or preferences. Students not living in camp will be able to buy lunches for $10 and dinners for $12 each. It is strongly recommended that local students, especially Musical Theatre students, consider paying for both lunch and dinner for most days. It is requested that meals are ordered and paid for by June 15, 2017. They may not be available after that. This will help to keep expenses down.
Classes are held on the premises; there are two music rooms and other classrooms for small groups. Concerts are held in the Gym and at other locations in the Comox Valley. The Musical Theatre performances are held at the Sid Williams Theatre.
Camp counsellors are present at all times. They are provided with cell phones should any emergency occur and there are procedures for dealing with these. Our local hospital is only a ten minute ride away. Activities are included in the camp fees and consist of beach barbecues, swimming, hiking, kayaking and picnics. All transportation is included.
Laundry services are available, a large bag of laundry costs in the region of $10 – $15.

Valley View School seen here is the rehearsal venue for Musical Theatre. It is just across the playing field from Mark Isfeld School.
The airport, bus and train stations are only about a 10-15 minute drive from the school, and we have dedicated volunteers who will meet and drive students to the school. Just let us know at what time and where any student will be arriving and they will be met. We can also drop them off at the end of the program. Click here for all travel options..
